10 Months Old...

Karina in her 10 month old picture in a pretty dress from Ya Ya. It is so hard to believe she is almost a year old! We have been enjoying the summer, taking walks and hanging out with friends. Both Tim and I have been working hard. We took a short trip up to Whistler, BC (Karina's first trip outside the U.S.!) but other than that have been trying to take it easy and when time allows (during Karina's naps) do some work on the house. We also had a great visit from Ouma and Oupa on either end of their Alaskan cruise (celebrating their 40th anniversary!), which conveniently left out of Seattle :)

We're very lucky that she loves to eat! She is very adventurous and will eat basically anything you give her.


Our trip to Whistler was a great getaway, however we didn't see this view until we were driving out on our last day. It rained the whole time we were there. It was still fun! We got a last minute deal online and had a small condo with a kitchenette 3 nights for the price of 2 at the base of Blackcomb mountain about 5 minutes from Whistler Village, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

9 months old! Oh my!

I know everyone says this when they have kids...but we really can't believe she is growing up so fast! Karina is 9 months old today. Tomorrow she will go to the pediatrician for her check up and next round of shots. She is an adventurous little eater (check out Marie's new food blog: http://mammascooking.blogspot.com/), loves to read, jump and play in her wading pool. She is slowly adding some new sounds to her repertoire. In addition to "Mamma" she is saying "baaaa".


This was a contender for the 9 month photo, but Tim wanted a picture with her hair flat after she had taken a bath :)


Karina loves her pointer finger. She is always pointing at things with it and putting it in her mouth and her ear.

This past weekend there was a festival at the Nordic Heritage Museum about a block from our house. Karina was more interested in eating her foot than enjoying the live Norwegian accordion music :)

It's finally Summer!!!

After a record cold June, the sun finally came out last week!! Unfortunately it was in the mid-90s, but luckily our house stays fairly cool, especially in the basement. We kept Karina cool by playing in a wading pool in our front yard and taking her to a fountain park where kids can play in the water. She loved it!!


She is a very happy little girl :)


She wasn't too sure of the water at first, but after a few minutes was splashing away.

8 months old and Happy Father's Day!

Karina was in a great mood today to help Tim celebrate Father's Day! Tim went bowling, we had a picnic lunch and a nice dinner out. Big difference from Mother's Day when we were all fighting a cold :) The sun was shining and it was close to 70. Perfect weather. Quite a change from the record breaking cold June we've had.


She is looking more and more like a little girl everyday!

Karina is starting to reach for the camera. She is very curious about this silver thing we keep putting in her face. You can see her two little bottom teeth in this picture. She has 4 white bumps up top, but no teeth up there yet.

"Daddy does my hair." Everywhere we go, people comment about her hair. Here its getting a little help from some hair product (thanks to Tim) but it usually sticks up on its own.


Karina loves bathtime. She's discovered that she can splash with her hands. She used to only splash with her feet and try to eat her duckies. Now she splashes away!
